10 Year Jail for making Piracy

Indian government is to amend the act of Cinematography 1952 to control the piracy which is affecting financial losses to the film industry. The intellectuals committee suggested a few changes in the act to the ministry on Wednesday, is being proposed to govt. Said Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

If anyone makes piracy or supports doing it is a punishable offense under the law. They might sentence of three-year jail or 10 Lakhs Fine, sometimes even both. The amendment of the act bill has to pass in the parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised for the change of act at the time of inauguration of the National Museum of Indian Cinema in Mumbai on 19th Jan 2019. The Producers Guild of India welcomed the change and thanked Prime Minister.
